Lifting the Lid • Explainer Video

Client: Sno-Isle Libraries

Sno-Isle Libraries is a network of 23 community libraries serving the Snohomish and Island counties here is Washington. In 2018, they had an initiative on the ballot to help fund the library system through 2025.

The problem: explaining how the library’s funding works is extremely difficult to grasp for the layman. Working with the marketing team at Sno-Isle, our task was to find a way to help voters understand what they were voting for in a way that wouldn’t make their eyes roll back in their heads and tune out the message.

I took the approach of creating an animated family and exploring what library services they use and what might disappear if they lost funding.

Happy to report that the levy ended up passing by a hair, undoubtedly pushed over the line by the video (in this creators humble opinion).
