Ripl, makers of an easy to use app that helps busy small business owners create their own social media posts, contacted me about creating a series of social media advertisements in promotion of their own company. These ads proved to be an exciting exploration in how to cut through the social media noise and raise awareness of the Ripl brand.

Utilizing both Instagram and Facebook, we explored whether animation or live action was most effective tact in stopping the potential customer’s endless scroll and arresting attention. Results proved inconclusive.

The effectiveness of animation vs live action video in social media marketing is a debate the great scholars will no doubt be having until the end of time.
